Last Spring the new 218,000 SF Hewlett Packard facilty was started on 17.08 acres in downtown Rio Rancho, New Mexico. It is located across from the City of Rio Rancho City Hall and the Santa Ana Star event center. This is a design/build method of construction and is scheduled to have substantial completion by December 2009.

On March 23, 2009 the winners of the 2009 Design/Build IDEA Competition were announced at a reception held on the UNM Campus. This competition was sponsored by Reid & Associates to create the entrance to the new Hewlett Packard facility under construction by Titan Development and Reid & Associates, in Rio Rancho, NM. First Place and $2,500 went to Chad Harris, Second Place and $1,500 went to Eric Ghahate and Third Place and $500 went to Susan Spencer. The UNM Architecture Department received $2,000 and the UNM Chapter of AIAS received $2,000.

This was a very successful event and may be continued on an annual basis in the future.
